This position provides support to activities within the Finance department, month-end close processes, monthly accrual and prepaid calculations, balance sheet review, various operational expense reporting, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.

 

Major/Key Accountabilities

Aid in the development and communication of the monthly freight expense review.  Build strong review and actual per-unit trend reporting.

Analyze and communicate monthly operational expense reporting

Aid in pool reporting as backup on monthly reporting, contractual matters, and annual reconciliation

Prepare and report on quarterly and semi-annual intercompany transactions in accordance with contractual agreements

Assist service centers with expense review, accruals, and other reporting

Review internal processes to ensure financial/reporting accuracy and integrity

Review and monitor monthly balance sheet reconciliations, track outstanding items, and lead monthly balance sheet reviews

Assist in preparation and reporting for the year-end financial audit

Assisting in other Finance department activities

Authority/ Decision Making          

This position has general authority/decision-making but may guide other stakeholders relating to the finance department processes.

Key Contacts

Internal

This position will need to work closely with members of Sr. Mgmt., Svc Centers, and Finance staff, and all other areas of the business.

 

External

This position will be required to work with outsource partners such as auditors, consultants, vendors, and other external parties.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

 

Experience

5+ years of previous accountant-level experience required

Strong process review and documentation background

Previous experience working in a corporate environment

Advanced proficiency with Excel required

Proficiency with SAP strongly desired

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Ability to handle multiple priorities and constraints

Detail-oriented and highly organized

Flexible and resourceful

Computer literacy required, including proficiency in standard business applications included in the Microsoft Office Suite

 

This is a hybrid role that combines remote and in-office work. Employees are expected to be on-site 2–3 days per week to support collaboration and business needs.
