Business Development & Grants Intern

Progsit LLC is a professional services firm delivering IT, cybersecurity, workforce development, training, and program support solutions to government and public-sector clients.

This internship is designed for students who want real exposure to how a consulting and government contracting business identifies opportunities, builds a pipeline, develops proposals, researches grants, and positions itself for growth. Interns will receive structured mentorship, professional development, project ownership, and executive-level feedback.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Research federal, state, local, nonprofit, and private-sector grant opportunities aligned with APC Scientific’s capabilities.
  • Support business development pipeline activities, including lead research, opportunity tracking, partner research, and outreach preparation.
  • Analyze solicitations, grant notices, and procurement opportunities to identify eligibility, deadlines, requirements, evaluation criteria, and submission risks.
  • Assist with drafting grant narratives, proposal content, capability statement updates, executive summaries, and partner briefing materials.
  • Conduct market research on agencies, public-sector buyers, prime contractors, strategic partners, and competitor positioning.
  • Support capture planning by organizing opportunity notes, deadlines, decision points, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain internal tracking tools for grants, bids, contacts, submissions, follow-ups, and status updates.
  • Prepare short research briefs, leadership summaries, and presentation materials for APC Scientific leadership review.
  • Participate in weekly check-ins, development sessions, progress reviews, and final showcase preparation.

Desired Majors

Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, or related fields.

Ideal Candidate

  • Currently enrolled in Business, Public Administration, Communications, Marketing, English, Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, research, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Interest in grants, government contracting, consulting, public-sector work, entrepreneurship, or business growth.
  • Comfortable working independently, asking questions, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple assignments.
  • Professional, reliable, detail-oriented, and willing to learn in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with research, writing, fundraising, grants, proposals, marketing, or administrative support.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or spreadsheet tracking.
  • Experience using AI prompting responsibly for research, writing support, outlining, or productivity.
  • Interest in IT, cybersecurity, workforce development, leadership training, or public-sector consulting.

 

Tools & Platforms

  • Microsoft Office / Google Workspace for document development, tracking, and collaboration.
  • Excel or Google Sheets for pipeline tracking, grant research logs, and opportunity status reporting.
  • AI-assisted research and drafting tools, used responsibly for brainstorming, outlining, and productivity support.
  • Video conferencing tools such as Zoom or Teams Meet for mentorship, check-ins, and presentations.
  • Shared drive structure for file organization, version control, and submission tracking.

 

Program Length: 12 weeks, Summer 2026

Format: Hybrid / Remote

Commitment: Approximately 20-30 hours per week

Compensation: Unpaid, academic credit eligible where approved by the student’s college or university

Location: Remote, with New Jersey-based opportunities available

Final Deliverable: Business development and grants capstone presentation to  leadership
