Chamber of Commerce Engagement Assistant

The New Orleans LGBTQ+ & Allied Chamber of Commerce is looking for a Social Media Intern who wants more than just “experience” we’re looking for someone who wants to help engage the community, connects, and grows online.

This role is hands-on, creative, and community-driven. You’ll help us tell our story, highlight our members, and increase engagement across our social platforms while also getting real experience in nonprofit marketing and event promotion helping us see what works and what doesn't.

Hours: 5hrs a week or 20hrs month MAX- 1099 work

What you’ll do:

  • Create and schedule social media content across platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook
  • Design graphics, ads, newsletters, and promotional posts that bring our events, members, and mission to life
  • Help promote Chamber events and member spotlights through engaging digital content
  • Assist in the weekly Chamber Newsletter
  • Write captions and content that feel authentic, engaging, and aligned with the Chamber’s voice
  • Support creative ideas to increase engagement, visibility, and community connection online
  • Assist with event logistics and gain firsthand experience in how Chamber events are planned and executed
  • Learn and utilize ChamberMaster for member management, event promotion, and communications
  • Occasionally assist at events and experience how the Chamber connects and supports the community in real time

What you’ll get:

Who we’re looking for:
Someone creative, curious, and excited about community impact. You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be comfortable with social media, willing to learn, teach and ready to contribute ideas.

This is a role for someone who wants to be part of something active, visible, and meaningful while building real-world marketing experience that YOU will get the credit and connections for.
