Associate Teacher
Los Angeles First Preschool (LAFP) is hiring an Associate Teacher for our toddler classroom serving children ages 2–3. This is a hands-on role in a small, supportive California State Preschool Program.
Responsibilities:
- Implement age-appropriate activities supporting social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Assist with daily routines including meals, nap time, and potty training
- Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment
- Observe and document children's developmental progress
- Communicate effectively with families, including bilingual English/Spanish families
- Follow Title 5, CSPP, and Community Care Licensing requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- 12 core ECE units including at least one course in infant/toddler development (or willingness to enroll)
- Experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred
- Must clear DOJ/FBI Live Scan background check
- TB clearance and immunization records as required by Community Care Licensing
- Patience, reliability, and comfort with all aspects of toddler care including diapering and potty training
