Office and Human Resource Manager

Job Description:
This is a key leadership role in a fast-paced, client-focused law firm. We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Office Manager to oversee all day-to-day office operations and serve as the central point of contact for staff management, workflow coordination, and human resources. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong interpersonal skills, a high level of professionalism, and the ability to keep a busy legal office running smoothly.

Job Responsibilities:
· Oversee all office operations and ensure the daily workflow of the firm runs efficiently and effectively.
· Monitor and manage team workloads, assign tasks, set priorities, and follow up on deadlines and reminders to keep staff on track.
· Supervise team performance, provide ongoing support, and escalate issues to firm leadership as appropriate.
· Lead all employee onboarding, including new hire orientation, training coordination, and ensuring staff are equipped with the tools and knowledge to succeed in their roles.
· Manage all HR-related matters including maintaining employee records, administering benefits enrollment, handling leave requests, coordinating performance reviews, and ensuring compliance with firm policies and applicable employment laws.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for HR questions and concerns from staff, escalating to firm leadership when necessary.
· Maintain and update the Employee Handbook, office policies, and internal procedures as needed.
· Coordinate with management on staffing needs, scheduling, and office resource planning.
· Support firm leadership with administrative projects, reporting, and special initiatives as assigned.
· Foster a positive, productive, and professional office culture.

Qualifications:
· 3+ years of experience in an office management, operations, or HR role; experience in a legal environment strongly preferred.
· Solid understanding of HR best practices and general employment law compliance (New York State experience a plus).
· Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills and a professional, approachable demeanor.
· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Outlook, Excel.
· Experience with legal practice management software (MyCase experience a plus, but not required).
· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
· Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and support a team in a high-pressure environment.
· Some college required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Job Type: Full-time, M–F
Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour, depending on experience
Work Location: In person — this is not a remote position
