Computer Programmer Intern (#5233)

Computer Programmer Intern

This paid Internship where the successful intern candidate will complete an internship with the anticipated start date is mid-June 2026 and lasting approximately 80 working days.

 

The intern will work with experienced programmers to gain knowledge and experience in entry-level programming and testing. This is a temporary position with no guarantee of permanent employment at the end of the internship.

 

Required internship activities:

  • Develop new or modify existing code for primarily entry-level tasks.
  • Test and debug code to ensure it matches the outlined business requirements.
  • Mentors with more senior level developers for code review, proper coding standards, desired development approaches, and security protocols.
  • Understands and can use source control for checking in programming changes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Software Development Manager or assigned mentor / designee.

 

Hourly Rate: $14.00 hour as a part time temporary position working from five (5) to 29 hours per week.

 

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Minimum requirement is a High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED) and current enrollment in a post-secondary education program leading to an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a computer related course of study. 
  • Must show completion of a minimum of twelve (12) credits earned in computer science course work. 
  • Adept at using Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel), artificial intelligence, as well as using virtual meeting platforms, such as Zoom, Skype and Microsoft Teams. 
  • Requires complex problem-solving skills to identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. 
  • Requires self-starting skills as well as being detail oriented. 
  • Excellent organization and time management skills to coordinate and prioritize the tasks based on project deadlines as several projects can be assigned simultaneously. 
  • Must have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with non-technical team members and/or clients. 
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
