Family Supportive Housing Advocate

COTS is hiring Family Supportive Housing Advocates to provide direct, community-based support to families working toward stable housing. This role focuses on case management, housing retention, and connecting families to essential services.

POSITION DETAILS

  • Full-Time: 9 am–5 pm, Monday-Friday 
  • Pay: $25.43 
  • Hybrid

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Provide ongoing case management to families in supportive housing programs 
  • Conduct regular home visits and maintain consistent client engagement 
  • Assist clients with housing-related requirements, including documentation and program compliance 
  • Support financial stability through budgeting and resource planning.
  • Connect clients to community resources (healthcare, employment, childcare, etc.) 
  • De-escalate conflict and respond to crises as needed

 

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in case management, social services, housing services, or related field, preferred 
  • Experience working with families, including home-based or community-based support, preferred
  • Ability to work with individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, or economic barriers
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload 
  • Valid Vermont driver’s license required 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, Education, or related field OR 4+ years of relevant professional experience
