Role Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Studio Assistant to join our dynamic design team. This opportunity offers hands-on experience in various aspects of the interior design process and is ideal for students or recent graduates pursuing a career in interior design.
This is a full-time on-site role based in San Francisco, CA, at ballonSTUDIO. The role involves supporting daily studio operations, coordinating client and vendor communications, assisting with drawing & renderings, organizing project materials, ensuring studio upkeep, and providing administrative support. Additionally, the Studio Assistant may assist with photography for documentation and creative purposes and help prepare for client presentations and meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pickups and deliveries to/from the Design Center, vendors, fed-ex and job sites
- Creating and maintaining organized project sample trays
- Supporting design team with drafting, drawings, and renderings
- Coordinating and communicating with vendors and showroom representatives
- Managing and updating the materials library
- Performing general office organization and maintenance, office supplies, watering plants, and filing
- Conducting product research and sourcing for building materials and furniture
- Assisting designers with the creation of presentation drawings and sample boards
- Updating project design schedules and timelines
- Assisting with budgeting and procurement tasks
- Running errands and performing various support tasks outside the office, as needed
Qualifications:
- Current student or recent graduate in Interior Design or related field
- Proficiency in Google Suite
- Experience with design software (AutoCAD, Archicad, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Preferably has a car for off-site errands and visits
- Basic knowledge of Interior Design and Vendors
- Ability to be in-office full time
