Employment Specialist

Position Summary: Employment Specialists provide support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in achieving meaningful, competitive employment. This role involves individualized coaching, job development, and ongoing support to foster independence and workplace success in a flexible, community-based setting. Key Responsibilities

 • Proactively contact clients to schedule meetings and provide ongoing support 

• Assist clients with job searches, applications, resumes, interview preparation, and job coaching

 • Train and coach clients at job sites, reinforcing essential workplace skills and fostering independence. 

• Collaborate with employers and hiring managers to facilitate job placements and ensure a supportive work environment. 

• Maintain accurate documentation, including progress reports and billing hours. 

• Attend required training and adhere to all legal, regulatory, and agency guidelines. 

• Cooperate with licensing and department staff during inspections or investigations. 

• Complete additional duties as assigned. Qualifications 

• High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred). 

• Prior experience in job development and/or job coaching (state certification preferred; paid training available if not certified) 

• CPR certification (required on first day) 

• Ability to pass a criminal history check and drug screen 

• Reliable transportation and clean driving record 

• Experience with developmental disabilities preferred • Smartphone required • Commitment to at least one year 

• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. Skills and Competencies
