Grocery Delivery Driver-On Call As Needed

We are seeking a highly reliable and customer service-focused On Call Grocery Delivery Driver to support our grocery delivery service in Newport News, VA. This role involves delivering pre-ordered groceries. Deliveries are scheduled for Mondays from 10am-2pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grocery Pickup & Delivery: Collect pre-ordered groceries from the store, bag them if necessary, and ensure timely delivery to customers' offices.
  • Item Substitutions: Occasionally shop for substitute items, ensuring customer allergy restrictions are adhered to.
  • Prep Work: Printing address lists.
  • Scheduling Adjustments: Deliveries will shift to Tuesdays if a holiday falls on Monday.
  • Occasional Printing: Print address lists and other delivery-related documents as needed.

Qualifications

  • Transportation: Must own a reliable vehicle with valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build lasting relationships with customers.
  • Reliability: Strong dependability is a must—punctuality and accountability are critical to this role.
  • Background Check: Ability to pass a background test.
  • Excel Knowledge: Familiarity with Excel is helpful.
  • Flexible & Adaptable: Must be prepared to handle substitutions and last-minute changes to delivery schedules.
  • Legal Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Language Requirement: Fluency in English is required for communication with customers and staff.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Workdays: ON CALL AS NEEDED ON Mondays from approximately 10 am-2 pm or whenever deliveries are finished.
  • Week Off: One week off every five weeks and for holidays.
  • Pay: $100 per day (approximately 4-5 hours of work for the day).
