The Role
As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you’ll be on the front lines of growth. Your mission is to introduce Empath to the right prospects, start high-quality conversations, and book first-time meetings for our team. This is a high-coaching, high-skill-building role built for someone early in their career who wants to gain confidence fast, learn a market, and see their effort turn into measurable results.
What You’ll Do
Execute a structured outbound plan (calls + email + LinkedIn) to create pipeline and consistently book first-time meetings with qualified prospects.
Make daily calls to generate awareness, start conversations, and schedule appointments.
Use HubSpot to log outreach, track leads, and keep your pipeline organized and accurate.
Learn the IT services and cybersecurity market quickly (often called the MSP industry) and become fluent in what prospects care about.
Collaborate with Revenue Operations to improve messaging, sequences, targeting, and overall outbound performance.
Manage weekly priorities, communicate progress clearly, and follow through on initiatives.
Support additional revenue and service quality initiatives as needed.
AI + Sales Skill-Building
You’ll be trained on how to use AI to:
Research companies and decision-makers faster (and personalize without sounding robotic)
Write stronger emails, call openers, and LinkedIn messages in minutes
Build talk tracks and objection responses that feel natural
Prep for meetings like a pro (quick briefs, key questions, likely pain points)
Review and improve performance quickly with structured feedback
This role is a crash course in modern business development — with tools that give you a real advantage.
What Success Looks Like (First 60–90 Days)
You’re comfortable running outreach conversations without sounding scripted.
You can explain Empath’s value clearly and confidently in under 30 seconds.
You consistently book qualified first-time appointments.
Your HubSpot notes and pipeline hygiene are clean and reliable.
You improve week over week through coaching, reps, and iteration.

Preferred (not required):
Any experience in sales, customer-facing work, or campus leadership
Interest in tech, cybersecurity, SaaS, or IT operations
Familiarity with CRMs like HubSpot or Salesforce
Exposure to IT services / managed IT / cybersecurity providers

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $45,000
Commission (OTE): $30,000

Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm ET
