About Thought GPS

Thought GPS is a location-based audio storytelling app that lets creators attach voice clips to real-world places. Listeners can discover stories, tours, memories, comedy, history, recommendations, and campus experiences tied to the places around them.

We are an early-stage startup building a new way for people to experience cities, campuses, neighborhoods, and cultural spaces through GPS-triggered audio.

Internship Overview

Thought GPS is seeking a Data Analytics Intern to help monitor user behavior, analyze performance metrics, and provide insights that support product growth and marketing strategy. This role is ideal for a student interested in data analytics, startups, consumer apps, marketing analytics, product analytics, or business intelligence.

The intern will help organize data, track key metrics, create simple reports, and identify patterns that can help Thought GPS improve user growth, engagement, retention, and product experience.

Responsibilities

  • Track app, marketing, and user engagement metrics
  • Help organize data in Google Sheets, Excel, dashboards, or reporting tools
  • Monitor downloads, signups, active users, content creation, listens, shares, and retention trends
  • Analyze which marketing channels, campaigns, or content types perform best
  • Support reporting on creator activity, listener behavior, and campus growth efforts
  • Help identify patterns, drop-off points, and opportunities for improvement
  • Create simple charts, summaries, or dashboards for startup leadership
  • Research useful benchmarks for consumer apps, creator platforms, and campus marketing
  • Translate data into clear recommendations and next steps

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with numbers. Prior professional experience is not required, but candidates should be interested in using data to understand user behavior and business performance.

Strong candidates may have experience or interest in:

  • Google Sheets, Excel, Airtable, or similar tools
  • Data analysis, reporting, dashboards, or visualization
  • Marketing analytics or product analytics
  • Firebase, Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Tableau, Looker Studio, or similar tools
  • User behavior analysis and growth metrics
  • Startups, mobile apps, creator platforms, social media, or consumer products
  • Turning data into clear, practical insights
