Photography Counselor: Summer Day Camp

SPEND YOUR SUMMER TEACHING PHOTOGRAPHY TO KIDS!

Awarded LA Parent’s Best Summer Camp, PAW offers an inspiring arts experience for kids.

These jobs are ideal for college students building a teaching resume as well as professional photographers looking for summer opportunities. 

Performing Arts Workshops Summer Camp is staffing: 5 SUMMER CAMP LOCATIONS
El Segundo, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Torrance, and West LA.

Each session is one week in length with 8 weeks available and will rotate between the locations listed above.

POSITIONS & COMPENSATION: 
PAW Photography Counselors should have experience in digital photography and photo editing across a variety of genres. Counselors will guide children ages 9 - 14 in capturing, composing, and editing images while teaching technical skills, creative expression, and visual storytelling. Instruction takes place in a positive, encouraging, non-competitive environment that fosters confidence, curiosity, and a love of photography. (Teacher must have a laptop computer or tablet) 

PHOTOGRAPHY ~ TEACHER: $24/$25 per hour

DATES & HOURS:

Monday – Friday

Camp Dates:  June 15th – August 7th

Plus 1 paid orientation day on June 6th

Work Hours:  8:45am – 3:15pm

QUALIFICATIONS:
You must be creative, enthusiastic, caring, motivated, responsible, and love to work with children.

Formal training may include: You must have formal training in Photography - formal training may include advanced level ability or any college credits currently earned towards a degree OR an advanced level of training in private studios. Also, you must be able to clear a criminal background check, and be over the age of 18.

EXPERIENCE:
Prior experience working with or teaching children is needed and references are required.

Experience May Include: Both PAID JOBS  or  VOLUNTEER WORK  and can span teaching jobs at Schools, Studios, Children’s Centers, After-School Programs, YMCA, Parks & Rec, Enrichment Companies, Youth Services, Summer Camps, etc.
