About Thought GPS
Thought GPS is a location-based audio storytelling app that lets creators attach voice clips to real-world places. Listeners can discover stories, tours, memories, comedy, history, and local recommendations tied to the places around them.
We are an early-stage startup building a new way for people to experience cities, campuses, neighborhoods, and cultural spaces through GPS-triggered audio.
Internship Overview
Thought GPS is seeking a Social Media Marketing Intern to help grow awareness of the app across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, and other digital channels. This role is ideal for a student interested in startups, social media strategy, content marketing, creator platforms, and consumer apps.
The intern will support content planning, social media posting, engagement tracking, and campaign ideas that help introduce Thought GPS to students, creators, local communities, and early users.
Responsibilities
- Help create and organize social media content for Thought GPS
- Support short-form video ideas for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
- Draft captions, hooks, hashtags, and post concepts
- Track basic engagement metrics and summarize what content performs best
- Research social media trends relevant to apps, creators, travel, campuses, and local storytelling
- Help identify creators, student groups, influencers, and communities that may be interested in Thought GPS
- Assist with simple content calendars and campaign planning
- Provide feedback on how Thought GPS can better reach college students and young creators
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is creative, organized, curious, and comfortable with social media platforms. Prior professional experience is not required, but candidates should have an interest in marketing, startups, content creation, or consumer technology.
Strong candidates may have experience with one or more of the following:
- Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, or Facebook
- Canva, CapCut, VEED, Adobe Express, or similar tools
- Short-form video trends
- Campus clubs, student organizations, or event promotion
- Writing captions, hooks, or social media copy
- Tracking engagement or using basic analytics
