Internship Opportunity: Media Support 
Organization: Open AIR
Location: Missoula, MT
Duration: Summer 2026 (Potential extension; Work-study eligible for Fall/Winter)
Compensation: Paid hourly $15/hr, 5-10 hr/wk. 

Overview:

Build your skills and resume in the arts with a paid internship at Open AIR. The Media Intern provides essential assistance in capturing and documenting Open AIR’s residency programs. This role is designed for a creative individual looking to gain experience in video production, event support, and digital storytelling within a non-profit arts environment.

Responsibilities

  • Production Assistance: Assist with shooting and editing video/photography for artist presentations, exhibition documentation, event archives, and residency sites.
  • Technical Setup: Support the setup of A/V equipment, projector displays, and audio tools for artist-focused events and presentations.
  • Event Support: Provide onsite assistance at seasonal events and exhibitions, including some weekend and evening event support and some travel across Western Montana.
  • Digital Coordination: Assist the communications team by managing community event calendars, general outreach, and organizing media archives.
  • Content Creation: Support the development of video content for Instagram Reels, Facebook Stories, and the Open AIR YouTube channel.

Qualifications

  • Basic proficiency with video documentation and photography.
  • Experience with video editing software (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or Final Cut Pro).
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and Google Suite tools.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to follow project timelines, and juggle multiple projects at one time.
  • Bonus Skills: graphic design, animation, or drone operation.
