Tour Guide
As a Tour Guide & Gift Shop Associate, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional experiences for our guests. This position combines public speaking, customer service, and retail responsibilities in a fun, fast-paced environment.
You’ll lead engaging tours through our working float studio, share the history and traditions of Mardi Gras, and assist guests in our gift shop.
This is a great role for students interested in hospitality, tourism, communications, theater, history, or customer experience.
Responsibilities
Tour Guiding
- Lead guided tours for groups of varying sizes
- Deliver engaging and informative presentations about Mardi Gras history and float building
- Ensure guest safety in an active production environment
- Answer questions and create a welcoming atmosphere
- Assist with tour flow and guest check-in
Retail & Guest Services
- Provide friendly and attentive service in the gift shop
- Operate point-of-sale system and handle transactions
- Maintain clean, organized retail displays
- Assist guests with merchandise selections
- Restock and support inventory organization
Qualifications
Required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups
- Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods
Preferred
- Interest in hospitality, tourism, theater, history, or communications
- Customer service or retail experience
- Public speaking or performance experience
- Knowledge of New Orleans culture or Mardi Gras traditions
