Student Activities Funding Board - Director of Marketing

The Student Activities Funding Board assists the more than 250 registered student organizations at Oakland University in implementing and developing programs, events, and other activities to benefit the Oakland University student body by fairly and equitably allocating its financial resources.

As Director of Marketing, you will:
Manage SAFB communications and outreach to student organizations.
Share funding updates, deadlines, and announcements across platforms.
Support engagement and awareness of SAFB resources.

Role Requirements:
Commitment to fairness, integrity, and confidentiality in financial decisions.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
Working knowledge of major social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok) and their content formats.
Basic experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express, or similar).
Strong written communication skills for creating clear, engaging announcements and updates.
Organizational and time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Attention to detail and accuracy when sharing funding information and deadlines.
Familiarity with Oakland University student organizations and campus culture.
Availability to attend regular SAFB meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing or contributing to a brand, organization, or club social media account.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Photography or videography skills for event coverage and content creation.
Experience analyzing engagement metrics and adjusting content strategy accordingly.

This position begins May 25th, 2026.
This position is 10 hours per week in the Summer semester and 15 hours per week in the Fall and Winter semesters.
