Tech Fellow (CS + AI)
Do you absolutely love to create, write code, and use AI to go fast? Blue Cypress is hiring tech fellows with Computer Science degrees right now!
The tech fellow is an ideal first position for a recent graduate from a bachelors or masters degree in CS. We are open to candidates with between 0 and 2 years of experience post graduation.
BC is a technology incubator exclusively dedicated to building SaaS and AI products for the social sector (non profits, associations, NGOs). We believe that driving transformative change in our world by supporting these organizations with cutting edge technology is a deeply meaningful purpose and seek team members who align with these beliefs.
Enjoy living in New Orleans, LA for the first 12 months of your fellowship. Being in the office daily with your cohort and others will rapidly accelerate your learning. You're welcome to stay longer in NOLA, but only the first 12 months are required.
Purpose & Philosophy
The Blue Cypress Labs Technology Fellowship is a 3-year, high-intensity career accelerator designed to transform top-tier computer science graduates into future leaders. The program’s purpose is to:
- Accelerate your development into a founder-level technologist within 3 years
- Provide broad exposure to technologies, companies, and product contexts across the Blue Cypress ecosystem
- Provide the opportunity to directly serve nonprofits, associations, and other social-impact organizations. You don’t just learn cutting-edge technology; you apply it to strengthen communities and create technology that matters
We offer outsized career growth: fellows graduate positioned to lead new ventures, become senior leaders within portfolio companies, or launch their own startups.
Core differentiators:
- Founder-level access — direct mentorship from the Chairman, CTO, and the rest of Blue Cypress Leadership Team
- Breadth of exposure — rotations across projects, products, and companies
- Leadership opportunities — mentoring peers as early as Year 2, leading projects by Year 3
-
Career acceleration — Startup-founder-readiness in 3 years vs. 7–10 years in traditional tracks
Rotations
- Year 1–2: Rotate across technologies, companies, and product contexts to build a broad “CTO toolkit”
- Year 3: Specialize as project leads, incubate ventures, and operate independently of the CTO and Chairman except for strategic guidance
Workload & Recovery:
- The fellowship is incredibly intensive (60-80 hours/week is common)
- We embrace a “work hard, play hard” philosophy, pairing deep focus and effort with intentional recovery
- Recovery periods are actively supported so fellows can sustain peak performance and long-term growth
- In addition, we create opportunities to have fun together as a group, building camaraderie and making the journey enjoyable as well as intense
Important Notes:
This position is open only to US Citizens and permanent residents. Candidates with OPT/CPT will not be considered.
The first 12 months of the position require you to be in the office in New Orleans, LA. After the first 12 months, you are free to work from any location in the continental USA!
