Job description:
Giles Engineering Associates, Inc. (Giles) is a leading provider of Geotechnical, Construction Materials Testing, and Environmental services. Giles is looking to expand our geotechnical engineering department and actively seeking an entry-level Geotechnical Engineer or Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our Waukesha, Wisconsin team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Coordination and communication with the field and laboratory personnel throughout project completion
· Oversee field and laboratory services and analyze data and findings
· Client communication throughout the duration of the project, including time and expense management
· Writing and review of technical reports, specifications, and construction plans
· Development of appropriate foundation and site-related Geotechnical recommendations
· Writing and Review of Proposals
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ideally, previous field experience associated with subsurface investigations and foundation construction
· Professional demeanor
· Strong time management and organizational skills
· Self-motivated, driven, and positive personality, with a great work ethic
· Ability to work independently and with others
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor of Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical emphasis or Geological Engineering
· 0 to 5 years of experience under a geotechnical engineer
