Position Overview

We are looking for an inspiring, creative, and dedicated High School English Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate is someone who doesn’t just teach grammar and literature, but fosters a genuine love for storytelling, critical thinking, and the power of the written word. You will be responsible for guiding students through the complexities of rhetoric, diverse literary canon, and modern composition, preparing them for both college-level rigor and real-world communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum & Instruction: Design and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards, covering American/British literature, world literature, and creative writing.

• Skill Development: Help students master the art of the essay—from persuasive and analytical writing to narrative storytelling—while refining their grasp of mechanics and style.

• Classroom Culture: Maintain a vibrant, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment where students feel safe to express diverse perspectives.

• Assessment: Evaluate student progress through a mix of traditional exams, Socratic seminars, and project-based learning.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Secondary Education, or a related field.

• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (you are the expert, after all!).

• Tech Savviness: Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas, Google Classroom) and educational technology.
