The Job

We make custom signs, vehicle graphics, and visual displays for local businesses. We need 2–3 part-time assistants to help keep the shop running — answering phones, doing data entry, organizing materials, and lending a hand to our production team.

This is a straightforward hourly job. No upselling, no quotas, no commission. We'll train you on everything you need to know in your first week.

Schedule

• Weekdays only, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• No nights, no weekends, no holidays
• 12–20 hours per week, built around your CLC class blocks (morning or afternoon)
• 15 minutes from CLC Grayslake, easy commute from Waukegan campus

If your class schedule shifts next semester, we'll rebuild your shifts around it.

Pay

$16/hour, paid bi-weekly via direct deposit.

What You'll Do

• Greet walk-in customers and route phone calls to the right person
• Enter completed job tickets into our order system from a checklist
• Keep the front desk and lobby tidy
• Organize material racks and shop supplies
• Move materials between workstations
• Pack finished orders for pickup or delivery
• Help production with simple hands-on tasks: weeding vinyl decals, prepping substrates, cleanup

What We're Looking For

• Friendly and professional on the phone and at the front desk. You'll be the first person customers see and hear.
• Comfortable in a shop environment. It's clean and well-lit, not a warehouse — but you'll be on your feet, around tools and materials, and occasionally lifting up to 30 lbs.
• Careful with details. Most of what we do has a customer's name and deadline on it.
