Job Title: Language Instructor (Mandarin 101/102 & World Languages – Online and In-Person)

Position Overview
ZDCLA is seeking passionate and dedicated Language Instructors to teach Mandarin (101/102 levels) as well as Japanese, Korean, and English language programs. Courses are offered in both online and in-person formats.
We are looking for educators who are enthusiastic about language instruction, cultural exchange, and community engagement. Instructors will play an important role in promoting language proficiency while fostering an interactive and supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned language courses (Mandarin 101/102, Japanese, Korean, or English)
- Prepare lesson plans aligned with program goals and student proficiency levels
- Deliver engaging, interactive instruction (online or in-person)
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Create a positive, inclusive, and culturally enriching classroom environment
- Participate in program meetings or community events when applicable
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficiency in the language to be taught (native or near-native level preferred)
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience preferred (especially in language instruction)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to teach in an online learning environment (familiarity with Zoom or similar platforms)
- Passion for education, culture, and community engagement
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Linguistics, Language Studies, or a related field
- Teaching certification or language teaching credentials (such as TCSOL, TESOL, JLPT, TOPIK, etc., depending on language)
- Experience working with diverse age groups (children, teens, or adults)
