Bridges Liaison
Bridges is a voluntary program available to young adults who left foster care in Ohio at ages 18, 19 or 20 and who are in school, working, participating in an employment program, or have a medical condition that prevents them from going to school or working. The program provides guidance and support as they transition to adulthood. Focus on Youth, Inc. is a Bridges service provider.
The Bridges Liaison will possess two (2) years of experience working with families and/or children in the child welfare system; and possess an Associate degree (or related certification) or Bachelor degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field. Must complete required background checks including BCII / FBI with no record of forbidden offenses listed in OAC 5101:2-5-09.
Tasks may include:
- Maintain a caseload of 10-13 Bridges participants.
- Enter data in the State Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS) database to maintain compliance with state rules.
- Ensure required paperwork and form deadlines are met in accordance with state rules.
- Assist clients with budget planning and ensure appropriate documentation is collected and submitted.
- Provide crisis intervention support as necessary.
