Environmental Technician Summary
To manage and ensure the safe and efficient operation of customer hazardous waste storage area.
- Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times. Manage 90 day waste storage area. Pickup and Transport drums from satellite accumulation areas to 90 storage area. Prepare hazardous materials and hazardous waste for shipments off site. Effective interaction with clients, customer associates, and departments. Conduct daily operational and equipment inspections. Conduct drum and storage inspections as needed. Load waste safely in accordance with company, federal, state and local regulations/rules. Perform basic spill cleanup and housekeeping duties as directed. Utilize knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT and OSHA regulations. Move waste to storage areas. Replace drums at satellite accumulation areas as needed. Participate in site specific labeling and documentation procedures. Assist Heritage On-Site Program Manager as directed Position handles hazardous materials and will often require use of PPE: Boots, Gloves, Suits, Eye/Ear Protection and Respirator Operate a forklift or other equipment.

- High School diploma or its equivalent required. B.S/BA in environmental science or related. 1 + years of experience required. 40 HAZWOPER certificate beneficial DOT training preferred. Basic knowledge of EPA, DOT and OSHA regulations preferred. An Ability to understand general industry practices. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respirator. Communication and relationship-building skills. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
