Mathematics Faculty - Full-Time - Stillwater

SUMMARY: Reporting to the Mathematics Division Chair, this position will be teaching and advising full-time at the NOC Stillwater Campus.  Courses may include: Math Applications, Math Functions, Algebra for STEM and related supplement courses. A night course may be part of the instructional load. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:

• Teaching undergraduate mathematics and supplement courses. 15 instructional hours each fall and spring semester are required
• Setting up courses and maintaining grades using Blackboard and WebAssign
• Grading coursework and providing feedback in a timely manner
• Submitting assessment data in a timely manner
• Participating in committees and professional development opportunities
• Participating in faculty meetings, student events, and graduation
• Meeting with and advising students to meet academic goals and degree planning
• Effectively communicating with students
• Perform all other duties necessary to accomplish the educational objectives of the College and/or as assigned by the Mathematics Division Chair

 QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and have a thorough understanding of the subject matter. The individual should have prior teaching experience and classroom management.  The Mathematics Faculty member should have the ability to use technology in the classroom and online/computer skills are required.  The individual should exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills. Subject to satisfactory Fair Credit Reporting Act Disclosure which includes a criminal background check. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of a Master’s degree, with the Master’s or Bachelors in Mathematics or closely related field and 3 years teaching experience preferred. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, push, lift, haul, reach, carry, grasp, squat or stoop, bend and twist the body while performing essential duties, use hands to operate controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk or hear.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
