After School Paraeducator

Must be able to work the following hours: MTThF 2:30-6, W 12:30-6

Definition: Under the direction of the Site Administrator and supervision of the After School Program Coordinator, assist in supervising students at an assigned school site during after-school enrichment programs; tutor individual or small groups of students reinforcing instruction and supporting students in homework completion.

Training and Experience: Any combination of experience and training that would indicate possessions of the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed herein. Proof of high school diploma or equivalent, two years of working with school-aged children, college course work in psychology, child growth and development or education may be substituted for experience. Those who are working towards or already have a teaching credential or are considering a career as a teacher are strongly encouraged to apply.

ESSA Compliance: Due to funding, all Paraeducator employees must be Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) compliant which means they must either pass a Paraprofessional Exam (available at our District Office) or have two years’ college courses (48 units), or an A.A. degree or higher.
