About Us
theCoderSchool Walnut is an after-school program that inspires kids ages 7–18 to unleash their creativity through coding. We provide a fun, energetic, and supportive environment where kids learn to think critically, solve problems, and become creators. Our coaches are the heart of our school, serving as instructors, mentors, and role models to the next generation of coders.
About the Role
Looking for a part-time job that looks great on your resume? We're looking for passionate, fun, and tech-savvy students who love working with kids and want to make a real impact. As a Code Coach, you'll guide students through personalized coding lessons, helping them build their own games, apps, websites, and more — while sharpening your own communication and leadership skills along the way.
No prior teaching experience required — just a love of coding and a knack for connecting with kids.
We're Hiring For Code Coaches
• After-School Code Coach — part-time, year-round, weekday afternoons and Saturdays
Positions are paid, with flexible hours built to fit around your class schedule. Coaches typically work 5 to 20 hours per week during the following time blocks:
• Weekdays: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
• Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
What You'll Do
• Mentor, tutor, and teach students in 1-on-1, 1 to 2, or small group sessions using project-based learning
• Inspire and empower kids to express themselves through technology
• Guide students in creating games, apps, websites, and animations using languages and tools like Scratch, Python, Roblox, and more
• Communicate regularly with parents to share progress, answer questions
• Collaborate with the team to ensure each student's learning journey is fun, challenging, and tailored to their goals
What We're Looking For
• General knowledge of at least one programming language is helpful (e.g., Scratch or Python)
• Bonus points for familiarity with game platforms like Roblox, Minecraft, or Unity
