UI/UX Designer (HR-Focused) — Volunteer (Pro-Bono)

POSITION OVERVIEW 

SCIP is seeking an experienced UI/UX Designer with a background in HR systems, compliance workflows, or talent platforms to support a critical workstream within our global digital transformation. This is a high-visibility, estimated 3+ months digital transformation project focused on designing the user experience for SCIP's Job Portal, Talent Pipeline, and internal onboarding and compliance processes. We are looking for an innovative thinker who understands both design excellence and the functional demands of HR and compliance environments, and who is passionate about giving back to a mission-driven organization empowering the next generation of diverse global leaders.

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO: 

  • Design intuitive user experiences for SCIP's Job Portal and Talent Pipeline, including candidate-facing and internal dashboard interfaces
  • Map and improve HR and compliance workflows, translating complex processes into clear, accessible user journeys
  • Design onboarding experiences for internal staff and volunteers that are engaging, compliant, and easy to navigate
  • Contribute to HR policy and compliance documentation UX, ensuring materials are structured, readable, and user-friendly
  • Collaborate with backend and frontend developers to ensure designs are technically feasible and implementation-ready
  • Upskill internal team members in design thinking as it applies to HR systems and compliance contexts

 

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR: 

  • 2+ years of UI/UX design experience with exposure to HR platforms, compliance workflows, talent systems, or equivalent enterprise environments
  • Background or professional experience in HR, people operations, or compliance is strongly preferred
  • Proven experience designing dashboards, job portals, or talent pipeline interfaces
  • Innovative thinker who can balance design quality with the functional rigor of HR and compliance contexts
  • Corporate or industry professionals motivated to give back and create meaningful impact through their expertise
  • Proficiency in Figma or equivalent; experience with AI design tools is a bonus
  • Portfolio demonstrating relevant HR, compliance, or enterprise UX work is required
