Safety Intern

Sargent Electric is seeking a motivated Safety Intern to support our Safety Team in promoting a strong culture of safety across electrical construction projects. This role provides hands-on exposure to field operations, regulatory compliance, and proactive safety programs within a fast-paced electrical contracting environment.

The intern will work closely with safety professionals, project teams, and field leadership to help ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with jobsite safety inspections, audits, and observations
• Support OSHA compliance efforts, including documentation and reporting
• Participate in incident investigations and help prepare corrective action plans
• Attend and assist with toolbox talks, safety orientations, and training sessions
• Track safety metrics (inspections, incidents, near-misses, training completion)
• Collaborate with field teams to identify hazards and promote safe work practices
• Maintain safety documentation, logs, and records

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Safety Management, Construction Management, or a related field
• Strong interest in construction safety, preferably within electrical or industrial environments
• Working knowledge (or coursework exposure) to OSHA regulations preferred
• Comfortable working on active construction jobsites
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
