Assistant Livestock Judging Coach - Tonkawa

SUMMARY:  Northern Oklahoma College (NOC) Division of Agriculture and Biological Sciences is seeking an Assistant Livestock Judging Coach on the Tonkawa campus. This part-time position will be a 10-month, 30 hour per week appointment that includes a benefits package. The Assistant Livestock Judging Coach is primarily responsible for teaching, instructing, and implementing skills and strategy.  Additional responsibilities include recruiting, scheduling, tracking student progress, and promoting NOC Livestock students to other universities. Considerable time and travel will be required, with availability on some evenings and weekends.  Applications will be considered until the position is filled.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Assist the Head Livestock Judging Coach with teaching, instructing, and implementing Livestock specific skills and strategy at NOC
• Assist the Head Livestock Judging Coach with team practices and contests.
• Assist the Head Livestock Judging Coach with NOC Livestock Judging Program activities such as the NOC Livestock Judging Contest, NOC Livestock Judging Camp, etc.
• Travel to select Livestock Judging Contests.
• Assist in the recruitment of NOC students and Livestock Judging Team Members, including tours of campus and agricultural facilities and booth representation at various recruiting events.
• Assist in organizing fundraising opportunities for the Livestock Judging Team.
• Assist the Livestock Judging Coach in regulating, publicizing and enforcing all team regulations
• Serve as a Campus Security Authority
• Other duties as assigned

 QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in an agricultural field. (Animal Science, Animal Production, or Meat Sciences, preferred)
• A thorough understanding of the livestock industry and format of livestock judging contests.
• Prior livestock judging experience at the collegiate level.
• Ability to develop good working relationships with potential students, livestock producers, and supporters of the program.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, instructional, and organizational skills.
• Clean driving record.
• Subject to satisfactory Fair Credit Reporting Act Disclosure which includes a criminal background check.
