Marketing & Sales Intern - Summer '26
The Mission
Sourcerer is an autonomous supply chain platform for international trade. We handle factory sourcing, negotiation, due diligence, production management, and shipping — operating as a blind escrow marketplace that connects buyers with verified global suppliers. Our customers are businesses that need reliable, cost-effective sourcing without the overhead of managing overseas supply chains themselves.
The Role
We seek outgoing and forward-thinking interns to split time between two jobs: building Sourcerer's public presence (marketing) and driving the pipeline (sales). This is not a "post on LinkedIn and call it a day" role. You'll research real markets, write for real buyers, run real outreach, and see what actually moves the needle.
You'll work directly with leadership. You'll learn how an early-stage company in international trade turns product capabilities, customer pain points, and market intelligence into revenue.
What You'll Own
Marketing
- Content creation across LinkedIn, blog, website, email, and other channels — written for buyers and partners who source products internationally
- Website copy, landing pages, and product messaging updates
- Market research: customer segments, competitor positioning, industry trends, trade events, and campaign angles
- Content calendar tied to product updates, customer wins, trade events, and market themes
- Visual and video assets as needed (social clips, explainers, event content)
- Tracking what content performs and iterating based on results
Sales
- Prospecting and lead research: identifying companies and buyers who need sourcing support
- Cold outreach via email, LinkedIn, and other channels — drafting sequences, testing messaging, and tracking response rates
- CRM management: keeping pipeline data clean, organized, and up to date
- Supporting customer conversations: preparing materials, research briefs, and follow-ups
- Trade show and event support: pre-event outreach, booth prep, post-event follow-up
- Feedback loops: documenting what prospects care about and feeding it back into marketing
First 30 Days
You'll learn Sourcerer's platform, products, markets, and customers. You'll understand how international sourcing works — from factory quotes to shipping docs — well enough to write and speak about it credibly.
You'll take ownership of early deliverables: a content calendar draft, initial outreach sequences, prospect lists, or published content.
By 90 Days
You'll have shipped real work: published content, active outreach campaigns, a maintained pipeline, market research that informed a decision, or customer-facing materials that helped close a deal.
The bar is simple — did your work make Sourcerer more visible, more credible, or more connected to the people we serve?
What You've Done Before
You've created something — writing, videos, campaigns, outreach, research, a side project — where you had to think about who the audience was and what you wanted them to do. School projects count. Personal projects count. Startup work counts.
You can take a complex idea and make it clear without dumbing it down. You can write a cold email that doesn't sound like a template. You have good judgment about tone, timing, and credibility.
Familiarity with tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, HubSpot, Apollo, Figma, Canva, Google Analytics, or email marketing platforms is a plus — but not required.
What You Haven't Done
You haven't treated marketing as filler content or sales as spam. You don't hide behind buzzwords. You don't send outreach you wouldn't want to receive.
You don't need to be an expert in international trade or supply chains. You do need to be curious enough to learn fast, ask good questions, and turn what you learn into clear, honest communication.
How to Know If This Is You
You have a real answer to each of these:
- You wrote or built something for a specific audience. What was the audience and what did you want them to do?
- A company you've never heard of reaches out to you cold. What makes you actually read it vs. delete it?
- You're given one customer win, one product update, and one industry trend. Walk through how you'd turn that into a week of content and five outreach emails.
Logistics
Hybrid / flexible. This is a paid internship with flexible start and end dates.
Sourcerer is an equal opportunity employer.
