Program Clinician (MH Therapist) - Summer Temporary

Position: Program Clinician (MH Therapist) - Summer Temporary

Salary: $34.00-$35.00/hour

Reports to: Clinical Director - Behavioral Health Component

Status: Part-Time (20 hours weekly); Non-Exempt

Dates of service: May 1 – August 7, 2026

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Summer Clinician is responsible for providing clinically appropriate therapeutic support services for youth between the ages of 5 – 25. Services will be provided directly via phone, teletherapy, CYC offices, client homes or in schools or other community-based San Francisco locations. Flexibility will be needed to identify mutually-convenient venues for therapy.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide clinically appropriate therapeutic support services for youth of all races/backgrounds between the ages of 5 – 25 which include clinical assessment, screening, diagnosis, treatment planning, progress notes and discharge planning etc.
  • Provide individual and family therapy with identified families, including parent emotional support and training. Target caseload of 8 to 10 clients.
  • Develop and conduct activities that address each youth’s unique social, emotional and behavioral needs through skill development in such areas.
  • Provide case management services for and linkages, advocate for client and family access to services, and collaborate with all systems involved with the family.
  • Deliver services in a manner convenient to families which may include occasional home visits or evening or weekend calls. 
  • Maintain clinical documentation in compliance with SFDPH required standards.
  • Act as liaison between all systems (i.e. schools, Juvenile Probation Department, Public Defender’s Office, community partners) and CYC.
  • Make appropriate referrals to CYC programs and other agencies.
  • Attend weekly group supervision/staff meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, therapy, counseling or social work field plus minimum of one year of direct counseling experience with youth and their families, or
  • Current Master’s degree student in final year of program in areas named above;
  • Current Psy.D. graduate student who has completed at least one year of practicum.
  • Note: This position will be supervised by a licensed Clinical Psychologist or Marriage & Family Therapist who can provide supervision for Masters or Doctoral level students or graduates still accumulating hours for graduation or licensure (with BBS or Board of Psychology).
  • Experience working with Asian-Pacific Islander (API) youth and families with mental health issues
  • Experience using Epic (SFDPH electronic record)
