Analytical Chemistry Intern

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Analytical Chemistry Intern to support research and development activities in a fast-paced laboratory environment. This role offers hands-on experience in analytical testing, method development, and data analysis while working alongside experienced scientists on projects focused on developing and improving biopharmaceutical products.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform routine analytical testing and report results, including techniques such as:
    • HPLC (UV/MS/CAD detection)
    • Karl Fischer (KF) titration
    • Osmolality testing
    • UV-Vis spectroscopy
    • pH and conductivity measurements
    • Microplate fluorescence detection
  • Assist in developing and qualifying analytical methods (based on experience level)
  • Support documentation efforts, including drafting and revising:
    • Protocols and reports
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Maintain accurate and compliant laboratory records to ensure data integrity
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on ongoing R&D projects

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Chemistry
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Biochemistry
    • Or a related scientific discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior laboratory experience
  • Experience with HPLC is a plus

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and software
  • Experience with file management systems and cloud tools (e.g., SharePoint, OneDrive)
  • Ability to accurately handle and analyze data
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work is conducted in both laboratory and office settings
  • Regular use of laboratory equipment and computers
  • May lift up to 15 lbs
  • Requires standing, sitting, walking, and occasional bending or reaching
  • Must have close vision and ability to focus on detailed work
