Essential Functions

This is a 12-month Graduate Assistant position for 2026-2027.

The Office of Student Leadership and Involvement (SLI) within the Division of Student Life and Wellbeing is seeking a Graduate Assistant to support SLI’s Summer Bridge Programming. These programs (Summer Scholars and Summer Bridge) are signature programs that provide opportunities for high school juniors and seniors to connect with UNO and prepare them for the college experience. In addition to general program support, the Graduate Assistant duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with recruitment and selection of program participants.
  • Assisting in developing outreach and marketing plans.
  • Assisting in planning events and activities.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging presentations to a wide audience, effectively conveying relevant information in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
  • Logistical planning, making room reservations, ordering supplies, etc.
  • Supporting the tracking of program roster of participants.
  • Research and stay current on campus information, tools, and best practices to ensure students in the program receive up to date with relevant information.
  • Assisting in organizing and conducting program assessments.
  • Interacting with and mentoring student participants.
  • Supporting SLI team with additional event planning and duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule

20 hours per week. Work week scheduled around classes and programming. Programming includes occasional evenings, weekends, and university breaks.

Required Qualifications

Must be enrolled in a UNO graduate degree program. Candidates who have previous

experience working with mentoring and youth programs.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference to candidates enrolled in graduate degree programs in education, social work, counseling, higher education leadership, or related fields.

Salary

$1708.16/month (plus tuition remission)
