NC Licensed Special Education Teacher | Provide Support for Children in Need

***Anticipated start date: 6/22/26***

 

Why This Role Matters

In this unique educational setting, you’ll provide structure, stability, and individualized instruction for students receiving crisis services. Your work ensures continuity in learning while supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs—helping them successfully transition back to their home schools and communities.

 

What You’ll Do

As a Special Education Teacher on our Child Crisis team, you will:

  • Deliver consistent, individualized academic instruction aligned with North Carolina state standards and students’ IEPs/504 plans
  • Develop, implement, and update IEPs using assessment and testing data
  • Support students’ social-emotional and behavioral needs within a therapeutic environment
  • Adapt instruction to meet the needs of students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support academic progress
  • Assist with school reintegration planning and coordination with home schools

 

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education
  • Valid North Carolina teaching license in Special Education:
    • EC General Curriculum (K–12) or
    • Cross-Categorical (K–12)
  • At least one year of experience working with children or adolescents with mental health diagnoses and/or substance use disorders

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with IEP development and special education compliance
  • Knowledge of behavioral strategies and trauma-informed educational practices
  • Experience with curriculum or program development and evaluation
