Grounds Student Worker
Description:
Assist the Grounds crew this summer in maintaining a safe, inviting outdoor campus environment for students, employees and the public to enjoy.
Essential Functions:
of the Job · Cutting grass, planting and watering flowers, weeding planting beds, emptying garbage containers, debris cleanup and other Grounds related duties. · May assist with the Moving crew or in Fleet Garage
Qualifications:
(Required Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities)
1. Must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver License and be able to meet or exceed the minimum requirements for driving on state business as described here: https://uwm.edu/risk-management/drivers/
2. Ability to work the scheduled hours the entire summer, giving sufficient notification of any vacation or time off requests.
Physical Requirements
· Lifting, pushing, pulling from 50 to 100 pounds for extended periods of time.
· Bending, stretching, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting.
Working Conditions & Environmental Factors
· Work is performed 100% on site in a variety of weather conditions including but not limited to: cold, heat, wind and rain.
Hours/Scheduling
· Approximate hours per week: 37.5 hours per week,
Monday thru Friday 6 AM to 2 PM
· Part-Time, Temporary position
PE Competencies:
Communicate with Supervisors and Groundskeepers regarding any issues observed in the assigned area.
Collaborate with coworkers to create aesthetically pleasing landscapes on campus for all to enjoy
