Art Teacher

Lucy School seeks a passionate, creative, and student-centered full-time Art Teacher to join our vibrant learning community for the 2026-2027 school year. This position serves students from PreK through 8th Grade and plays a key role in fostering artistic expression, creativity, and confidence across developmental stages.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver an engaging, developmentally appropriate visual arts curriculum for PreK–8 students
  • Introduce a wide range of media, techniques, and art history connections
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to integrate art into interdisciplinary units
  • Create a supportive, inclusive studio environment that encourages risk-taking and creativity
  • Display student work and help curate school-wide exhibitions and events
  • Maintain and organize art supplies, materials, and studio space
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues about student growth and progress
     



 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Teaching experience with elementary and/or middle school students
  • Strong understanding of child development across PreK–8
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a team-oriented culture
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
  • Enthusiasm for experiential education
