New Graduate Veterinarian – Non-Profit Small Animal Hospital (Dogs & Cats)

 

Position Overview

 

Our non-profit animal hospital is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and community-focused New Graduate Veterinarian to join our dedicated team. This role is ideal for a recent Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) graduate who is passionate about providing high-quality, affordable veterinary care while making a meaningful impact in animal welfare.

Key Responsibilities

 

Provide comprehensive medical care for canine and feline patients, including:

 

  * Wellness exams

  * Preventive care

  * Diagnostics

  * Vaccinations

  * Medical treatments

  * Basic surgical procedures (spay/neuter, routine soft tissue surgeries)

* Develop treatment plans with a focus on both patient care and client accessibility

* Educate pet owners on preventive medicine, treatment options, and responsible pet ownership

* Maintain accurate and thorough medical records

* Collaborate with veterinary technicians, assistants, and administrative staff

* Uphold the mission and values of the organization through compassionate, ethical care

* Participate in continuing education and mentorship opportunities to expand clinical skills

 

Qualifications

 

* Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary school

* Eligible for veterinary licensure in the state of employment

* USDA accreditation (or willingness to obtain)

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Commitment to animal welfare and non-profit/community veterinary medicine

* Willingness to learn and grow in a supportive environment

* Interest in shelter medicine, preventive care, or high-volume surgery is a plus
