Location: Remote (Work From Home) with optional in-person collaboration for candidates in the Greater Pittsburgh, PA area
Dates: June 15, 2026 – August 10, 2026 (approximately 8 weeks; flexible for academic schedules)
Type: Unpaid internship with potential performance-based bonus and strong letter of recommendation

Internship Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Marketing & Strategy Intern to conduct a comprehensive analysis of Zip With Us® and help build a foundational marketing strategy to support our next phase of growth.
This is a highly autonomous, hands-on role ideal for a student interested in nonprofit marketing, brand strategy, social impact, or startup operations. The intern will work directly with leadership to evaluate current efforts and design a scalable, mission-aligned marketing plan.
Key Responsibilities
1. Organizational & Marketing Analysis
- Conduct a full assessment of Zip With Us® current marketing efforts
- Analyze brand positioning, audience segments, and messaging effectiveness
- Evaluate website, social media, and outreach performance
- Identify gaps and opportunities in awareness and engagement
2. Marketing Strategy & Budget Development
- Build a comprehensive marketing plan and budget
- Outline annual and campaign-based marketing needs
- Recommend allocation for:
- Digital advertising (Meta, Google, etc.)
- Email marketing systems
- Content creation and storytelling
- Brand partnerships and outreach
- Develop a scalable strategy for nonprofit growth
3. Content, Media & Creative Needs
- Identify photography and video needs for:
- Website updates
- Fundraising campaigns
- Social media and storytelling
- Help define creative direction for brand materials
- Assist in planning content shoots or sourcing vendors/freelancers if needed
4. Events & Community Engagement
- Support planning and strategy for fundraising and awareness events
- Assist in building event marketing timelines and promotional strategies
- Help improve donor and community engagement strategies
5. Outreach & Growth (Optional / Dependent on Comfort Level)
- Assist with outreach efforts to hospitals, partners, or program stakeholders
- Potential support in cold outreach or introductory calls to grow select programs (training provided)
- Help refine messaging for partnership and program expansion
(Note: This component can be adjusted based on student experience and comfort level.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest or experience in marketing, communications, business, or nonprofit work
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, startup-style environment
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools (a plus, not required)
- Comfortable learning new systems and taking initiative
- Passion for social impact or healthcare-related missions
