Childcare Program Coordinator

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Childcare Program Coordinator to join our team!

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

As the Childcare Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing administrative support for Before and After School Programs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and direct communications with staff through incoming email, telephone calls, or in person. Respond to inquiries or refer as appropriate.
  • Assist in managing coverage schedules to ensure positive program experience.
  • Provide administrative assistance, including but not limited to distributing, processing, and filing paperwork, records, reports, memos, correspondence, inventory, and resupply.
  • Support efforts to manage the approved budget and curriculum ordering and distribution.
  • Maintain an orderly office environment to provide efficient service to staff. This includes filing, retrieval of records and prioritizing of workload.
  • Effectively communicate program information and progress as relevant.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all YMCA staff, school staff and community organizations.
  • Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information.
  • Provide reports and rosters as necessary.
  • Utilize purchase orders to order supplies and inventory as requested.
  • Assist in the coordination of department and program events. special projects, training as assigned.

  • 2-3 years of directly related experience to include computer skills, office/administrative support, customer service, and school age childcare.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office and database entry.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce database preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, problem-solve and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism in both attitude and appearance.
  • Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • The ability to demonstrate a friendly, courteous and professional manner while working with members and staff and the ability to understand, articulate, and enforce YMCA policies and procedures in a positive way.
  • Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks.

  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.

Wage: $20.06 to $20.60 per hour, depending on qualifications

Hours: Part-Time, 29 hours per week

Locations: Region 34 - YMCA Before and After School Programs, Tacoma, WA. Offices are located in Lakewood and Bremerton. Travel is a requirement of this position. This position will travel within Pierce and Kitsap Counties.
