Mechanical Engineering Intern

FreeAxez is seeking an energetic, organized and results-focused intern to join our team in the Delran office. This is a paid internship and can provide academic credit, if applicable. The internship offers valuable, real-world experience with an opportunity to work on architectural projects for Fortune 50 organizations, all branches of the military and as well as schools and universities. Watch this brief video to hear from some of our past interns about their experience at FreeAxez.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with product development and product improvement projects. 
  • Design concepts to full construction and add assembly drawings. 
  • Design and analyze complex parts and assemblies to applicable standards.
  • Draw SolidWorks and/or CAD modeling assignments to assist with projects.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants to develop integrated solutions within complex projects. 
  • Modify engineering design programs and templates for product revisions and enhancements.
  • Develop product and component test specifications.
  • Participate as a team member to acquire detailed product and user knowledge.
  • Gain an understanding of the plant, processes, and equipment by working with a diverse group of functional areas on cost, quality, lead time and safety improvements.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams, attend meetings, project activities, problem analysis, and technical reports, troubleshoot manufacturing or quality problems, and communicate with internal and external customers.

Qualifications:

  • Interested in the mechanical engineering industry, particularly product design.
  • Familiar with SolidWorks
  • Embraces the latest technologies to improve performance and sustainability.
  • Works productively and meets deadlines timely.
  • Communicates and interacts effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
  • Attitude of taking independent initiative, exhibiting creative problem-solving, eagerness to learn, while remaining dedicated to teamwork    
  • Has the ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment.
