We are seeking an entry level Project Engineer to complete our team who is looking to gain experience and grow professionally. Position Summary:

Execute a broad range of project assignments requiring knowledge of civil engineering practices. Provide technical design and coordination for civil engineering related functions using current techniques, theories, precepts and practices of civil engineering. Perform direct work under Lead Project Engineer / Senior Designer on various civil engineering projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Under the oversight of PE/SD, carries out the technical requirements of structural design projects, structural plans, and calculations.
  • Uses AutoCAD Civil 3D to design structural engineering design drawings, exhibits and maps.
  • For assigned projects, monitors and complies with the project work plan, schedule and budget.
  • Works under oversight of PE/SD to solve technical problems within the initial scope of the work. Recognizes issues and drafts work orders for PE/SD review for projects requiring work outside original contract and/or if unanticipated issues develop as work progresses.
  • Keeps abreast of new methods and developments affecting structural engineering design and drafting including associated computer technologies, design and construction methodologies, agency codes and requirements, and product/manufacturer developments.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Some Field experience;
  • Comfortable with travel to job sites to perform observations;
  • Engineering experience for Wood construction Type-V for Multi-level houses - a plus;
  • Knowledge with Hillside lots/challenging terrain, (incorporating piles, retaining walls, shotcrete walls and block walls);
  • Knowledge in local building codes, permit process, City of LA- Strong computer, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD LDD, RISA 3D, ENERCALC, and Microsoft Office (proficiency in Revit and Adapt a plus);
  • For Structural Engineer Position: Knowledge of the structural design of large residential estates, commercial buildings and hillside construction;
  • Strong problem solving skills;
  • Ability to work in a team a must
  • Valid CA Drivers License and clean driving record a must!
