Junior Embedded Engineer
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Embedded Software Engineer as part of an engineering R&D team, the Junior Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for product design, development, and support. Responsibilities will include design, coding, development, testing, debugging, quality assurance, open-source assessment, and implementation of embedded devices and systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement software for embedded devices
- Design, develop, code, test and debug system software
- Integrate and validate new product designs
- Support software QA and optimize I/O performance
- Provide post-production support
- Interface with hardware design and development
- Assess third-party and open-source software
- Recommend product improvements
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- B.S. in Computer or Electrical Engineering, or similar, MS preferred
- 1+ years of related development experience
- C and C++
- Linux network stack
- Experience with Embedded Linux application development
- Experience with Embedded SW design with close manipulation of Hardware
- Experience with debugging tools.
Additional Qualification:
- Demonstrated experience in digital, wireless, telecom, network architecture, protocols and standards
- Demonstrated experience in Embedded Systems Architecture Concepts
- Demonstrated experience in embedded processor hardware architectures, X86, ARM, MIPS
- Demonstrated experience developing embedded software for and a solid understanding of real-time systems
- Demonstrated experience developing Microcontoller embedded software
- Proven Experience developing and a solid understanding of both the hardware layer and protocols for communication interfaces such as UART, I2C, SPI and CAN bus
- Experience with GUI toolkit such as Qt or Python is desired
- Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
