Event & Brand Marketing Intern – Bogey’s Mix (DMV Area)

About Bogey’s Mix

At Bogey’s Mix, our mission is simple: provide fresh, locally sourced dog food while making fresh nutrition more accessible, so more dogs can live healthier, happier lives.

We prepare small-batch meals in our Leesburg, VA commercial kitchen and bring them directly to dog parents across the DMV through events, community outreach, and hand-delivery.

The Role

We’re looking for a motivated, outgoing Event & Brand Marketing Intern to help grow Bogey’s Mix. This is a flexible, hybrid (in-person + virtual) role focused on events, brand growth, community engagement, and real-world marketing experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Represent Bogey’s Mix at farmers markets, pop-ups, and dog events (avg. ~4/week, flexible schedule)
  • Set up and manage event booths, distribute samples, and engage with customers
  • Drive sign-ups through friendly, conversational interactions
  • Capture photo/video content at events
  • Support social media engagement and brand visibility
  • Participate in local influencer outreach initiatives
  • Help identify new event and marketing opportunities
  • Collaborate with the team through a weekly 1-hour sync

Compensation

Events:

  • $100 per large events & farmers markets
  • $50 per yappy hours & pop-ups

Commission:

  • 25% one-time commission per sale (pre-discount)
  • Paid bi-weekly
  • Custom referral code provided (50% off first order for customers)

Additional Opportunities:

  • Local influencer collaborations: $150 per partnership

Note: All opportunities are commissionable aside from the weekly team sync.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, outgoing personality
  • Comfortable talking with customers and representing the brand
  • Interest in marketing, events, or startups
  • Availability for weekend events
  • Reliable transportation
  • Love for dogs (non-negotiable 🐶)

Bonus (Not Required)

  • Event, brand ambassador, or customer-facing experience
  • Content creation (photo/video/editing)
  • Background in marketing, business, or entrepreneurship
