Associate Veterinarian

The Opportunity: Join a Towson institution. Towson Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned practice that has been the trusted heart of pet care in Baltimore County since 1935. We are looking for a compassionate Associate Veterinarian to join our legacy—whether you are a new grad looking for real mentorship or an experienced vet tired of the corporate grind.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Private & Independent: We are family-owned and decision-driven by veterinarians, not spreadsheets.
  • Unmatched Mentorship: Learn directly from owners with 77 years of combined veterinary experience.
  • Advanced Ultrasound Training: Want to master imaging? Work alongside a partner with 30 years of ultrasonography experience. We don’t just send cases out; we will teach you how to work them up in-house.
  • High Quality / Sane Pace: We practice proactive, progressive medicine with a high Average Transaction Value ($370+). This means you don't have to see 25+ pets a day to earn a great living. You can practice thorough medicine at a humane pace.

The Schedule & Workflow We believe in a controlled schedule, not chaos.

  • Zero On-Call: We refer all after-hours emergencies to local ERs (Pet+E.R.), protecting your personal time.
  • Protected Mid-Day Block (12pm - 1pm): We block this hour daily to allow for administrative catch-up, lunch, and reviewing labs. While we remain available for true medical emergencies, we do not schedule routine appointments during this time.
  • Surgery Focus (1pm - 3pm): A daily protected block for procedures prevents the stress of multi-tasking surgeries between exam rooms.
  • 5-Day Work Week: Full-time position with a flexible schedule (Wednesday/Thursday coverage required). Closed Sundays.

Compensation

  • Competitive Base Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 (commensurate with experience) + Production Bonuses.
  • Benefits: Health insurance, CE allowance, Paid Time Off, association dues, and liability coverage.

Who We Are Looking For: A DVM/VMD licensed (or eligible) in Maryland. We are looking for someone who values communication, wants to learn advanced diagnostics, and is ready to collaborate with a highly experienced team.

To Apply: Apply here or contact us directly to schedule a visit. Come see why we’ve been Towson’s favorite vet for 90 years.
