Berkshire Events Freelance Note Taker

Updated rate to reflect NE new labor laws

Summary

We are a financial information outlet seeking a reliable freelancer to attend and take thorough notes at a series of investment events in Omaha, Nebraska around the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting on Saturday May 2nd 2026. The events take place from Thursday April 30th through Sunday May 3rd 2026, and include lectures, seminars, and forums featuring prominent voices in value investing.

The first event kicks off Thursday April 30th and the schedule finishes Sunday night May 3rd. You do NOT need to attend all the events and we are flexible on working with your schedule. We are willing to pay hourly or set fee whatever you prefer. Note: some events overlap and we plan to hire one or two or three freelancers but most likely one or two and prioritze the important events.

We will provide all details, locations etc. once we narrow down candidates and see what works with your schedule but details below to give you a rough idea.

Note that some of these events have networking aspects at the end and/or beginnings of events. We do not need you to go to those; you are more than welcome to stay for the networking parts and partake of the food, but we only want to cover and pay for the conference portions (N/A if its set pay event and we .If there are networking aspects in the middle of the events, we will pay you hourly. We’ll pay you for that time.).

Again, you are welcome to attend the networking aspects, and there are also a couple of other networking events that we could get you into if you are interested. We can introduce you to the organizers and are happy to introduce you to anyone else as well.

We just want to offer that to anyone who is interested in making connections among a very nice crowd of investors. This group tends to be much more down-to-earth and collaborative than the typical Wall Street hedge fund crowd.

This is the perfect opportunity for a young aspiring investor going to Berkshire's annual meeting and looking to network, learn new ideas and make some money. It's also great for someone in the Omaha area who is looking to earn extra cash and attend interesting forums.

You do not need to know finance or investing (although if you do it's strongly preferred, and these are excellent events for networking in the industry).

The freelancer will record the audio clear enough so it can be understood (for internal use), get rough timestamps of any stocks mentions (This is most applicable for the Sunday Idea House events. It may also be applicable for some of the other ones as well, and the Buffet event itself.), take photos of the slides and speakers (does not need to be professional photos). However, if you don't know finance or dont want to take notes and can just record the audio and take some pictures, we will consider.

We will provide you with a media pass to enter, but we need you to bring any basic device which you can use to take notes and record decent audio (e.g. an iPhone and a laptop). We need two recordings in case one of them is unclear.

Please give your quote and make it clear you understand the task and also give a rough idea of which events you would be willing/able to cover (they should be close by).

We will create a Google Drive folder with subfolders containing the names of the conferences where you can upload your photos, recordings, and notes. If you prefer, you can send them in a different manner, such as through WhatsApp or email; we are flexible on that.

We don’t need the notes right away - although the sooner the better - as there is no urgency. The one exception is the notes from the actual Berkshire Hathaway meeting; we would like to get those uploaded more quickly.

Payment can be hourly or fixed rate - please state which you prefer in your reply and make it clear so we can consider. ie i am bidding $20 an hour or $500 to cover Friday. Saturday, Sunday to the following events.

Write the letters "HFA" at the beginning of the bid so we know you read the full thing.

Thank you for your consideration and please message me with any questions.
