Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

Ascension All Saints Hospital in Racine, Wisconsin is looking for a Part-Time Neonatal Nurse Practitioner!

  • Specialty: Neonatal
  • Schedule: Part Time (0.5FTE)
  • Practice Detail: Caring for 22 weeks plus infants. Always a Neonatologist available within 30 minutes.  Well-established Level III NICU facility. Collaborative team-based approach between Neonatologists, part of the group Newborn Care Providers (CP), and Ascension-employed Neonatal Nurse Practitioners.

This job location is currently located in a Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) and/or Medically Underserved Areas/Populations (MUA/P) Shortage Designation Type

Position Highlights:

  • Caring for premature infants. 
  • Helps create care plans and navigates care with the nurses.
  • Helps with deliveries.
  • Consults with mothers.
  • Approximately 1300 births a year
  • Average daily census of 5-8 infants.(gets about 10% of hospital births)
  • NICU has seasoned nurses with 40 years of experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
  • Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.

Requirements

  • New NP Grads are welcome to apply! 
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure, work independently, problem solve, and think on your feet.
  • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • Master's degree of Nursing required.

Preferences:

  • Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.
