Summary: High School Teachers are responsible for instructing students in grades 9-12. They create lesson plans and well-rounded, comprehensive instructional programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop course content in relation to the Colorado Academic Standards
- Plan, organize, and implement effective instructional strategies and lessons
- Monitor and evaluate student progress
- Collaborate with colleagues in department and building level administration
- Develop individualized lessons and programs for students as needed
- Communicate students' academic progress and needs with appropriate stakeholders
- Administer, edit, proofread, and grade student work in a timely manner
- Any and all other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with a teaching certification is preferred, but not required
- Endorsement, certification, degree, passing PRAXIS score, or being highly qualified in Special Education is preferred, but not required
- Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a Colorado Teaching License. The Weld Re-9 School District considers candidates pursuing alternative pathways to the classroom
- Candidates must be knowledgeable in the field of instructional technology
Salary and Benefits:
Salary range is $49,250-$67,450 per year AS OF THE TIME OF THIS POSTING depending on education, years of teaching experience, and professional development credits. Salary schedules are updated each spring for the following school year. See the Licensed Salary Schedule under the Employment Opportunities tab.
