English Teacher Volunteer in Albania
Job description
We are looking for U.S. citizens who want to be a part of something bigger and are willing to go the distance to make a difference. Is that you?
In more than 60 countries, Peace Corps Volunteers are putting their purpose, passion, and skills to work in partnership with welcoming host communities – growing, teaching, learning, and making change together.
As a Peace Corps Volunteer, you'll live and work alongside community members on locally prioritized projects, receiving a stipend and other support as you immerse yourself in a new culture. You’ll build relationships, exchange knowledge, and help transform lives for generations.
About the project
Recent university graduates interested in teaching English and working with young people are encouraged to serve in Albania.
English language education has become a priority in Albania as the country strives to join the European Union. Students and parents alike are highly motivated to strengthen their English skills as the language can expand educational and employment opportunities. With the recent reforms at the Ministry of Education, the government aims to bring quality education and better implementation of policies and strategies to even the most remote areas.
As an English Teacher, you will collaborate with community members to support teachers, students, and the surrounding community develop language skills. Together, you will create fun and engaging learning opportunities to develop English proficiencies.
