K-5 STEAM Educator

Position Overview
We are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic K–5 STEAM Educator to design and deliver an engaging program that integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. This role will provide students with opportunities to explore, create, and think critically through project-based learning experiences that connect across disciplines and support classroom learning in science, social studies, math, and literacy.

The STEAM Educator will teach students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 on a rotating schedule and collaborate closely with classroom teachers to enhance and extend grade-level curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a dynamic K–5 STEAM curriculum aligned with best practices in inquiry-based and project-based learning
  • Facilitate hands-on learning experiences that promote creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving
  • Integrate arts into STEM learning to deepen student understanding and engagement
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support and extend science, social studies, math, and ELA units
  • Teach STEAM classes on a rotating schedule (approximately once every 3–4 days per class)
  • Utilize a variety of tools and resources, including age-appropriate technology, to enhance learning
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, experimentation, and resilience
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback aligned with program goals
  • Maintain and organize STEAM materials, tools, and learning spaces

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Teaching certification (elementary)
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students
  • Strong understanding of STEAM education, project-based learning, and inquiry-driven instruction
  • Ability to integrate multiple disciplines into cohesive learning experiences
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Passion for fostering creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with makerspaces, coding, robotics, or design thinking
